Don't be an old bucket... socialize with us!
My husband and I have been married 35 years - it's amazing to me that he still loves me! He is a trooper. We have 5 children- 4 daughters and 1 son. We have 5 grandson's. We are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have traveled a lot and lived in several places. I'm so grateful now that we have sunk our roots back home.
Our last daughter got married last summer (we had 3 wedding in one year!) and so now I am finding myself, trying to re-define my world a bit. I have been doing the mom thing for so long, I feel like a fish out of water.
A while ago I was talking with my daughter, Andrea. She convinced me to share what I know... everything that I did while I was a full-time mom. We started working on the grandparents' book, then we moved to Christmas. From there we kept adding more and more, and 'Buckets of Ideas' was born. Virtually, I am known as 'Mrs. Bucket'. I am excited to share with you and become friends.
For the past 12 years of my life I have been a business woman. My experience ranges from owning small businesses, marketing consulting, organizational behavior, being a director of residential treatment and lots of travel. I have led a very full life with lots of experience, for which I am completely grateful.
After getting married (I finally found the love of my life) and having our first son, I decided I wanted to stay home with him so I could pass on the amazing things my mom taught me. I know business and my mom knows how to be a full time mom, so I am helping her and she is helping me with this transition!
While talking with her I kept asking her, "MOM... why aren't you sharing things you know? You know so much!" After a series of events and phone calls, 'Buckets of Ideas' is the result. We are excited to share ideas with you and we hope that you find value in the journey!

My First Blog Post On This Website!
I love to blog - there is a whole new culture in the blogging world. So many great people out there to be able to learn from and share with....and creativity.
I love holidays. I think they help add a dimension of change in our day to day living. We are able to be creative if we chose to be, creative in cooking, decorating, sharing, etc.
Creativity is so good for the soul. If you feel a drag or like you are not quite fulfilling yourself, you may need to spend some time in creativity. Creating is what you do when you read, you create the picture of the story in your mind. When you make a new recipe, redecorate a room, do a work project, paint a picture, make a craft, hand or machine sew, garden, and so many more activities, you create. That is why you feel so refreshed. I feel strongly that creating is a basic need and if you don't do it in some medium, you get burnt out, stagnant, depressed, and lack of movtiviation to do much of anything.
So I say - Create Something Today!
October 9, 2009
It is snowing at our house tonight. I made some potato soup for supper - the perfect meal in the fall in Idaho. I decorated my front porch today for Halloween. It is dressed for the holiday. I used pumpkins and squash from our garden and put out fun things we painted as a family in years past. It is so cheery and bright out there. Because it is supposed to get really cold tonight (18*) cold even for here in October, I covered everything with a blanket so when it warms up next week, my front porch is all dressed for fall!.
Everyday is a beautiful day - hope you enjoy every minute of it.....create something today!

Only a few more days until Halloween. We are carving pumpkins on Friday with our family and having Sloppy Joes for supper. I love doing things with our family, so fun to hear and feel the excitement as everyone spends time together. What a wonderful opportunity to create memories together. My hope for you is that you have a wonderful Halloween, however you celebrate it with the loved ones in your life.
Everyday is a beautiful day - hope you enjoy every minute of it.....create something today!
